BRITANNIA
“BEGGARS OF LIFE” Two interesting pictures will be shown on the double-feature programme now at the Britannia Theatre. The first is “Beggars of Life,” a dramatic tale of tramps and tramp life, starring Xoali Beery, Louise Brooks and Richard Arlen. The story tells of a girl accused of murder, who escapes and lives as a tramp among the rough outcasts. They teach her the rough and ready means of their existence, shield her from the police and even subject themselves to considerable danger in some thrilling mountaineering episodes. The picture views life from a most unusual angle and is thoroughly entertaining. The second feature will be “Romance of the Underworld,” a tale of night club and cabaret life, starring Mary Astor as the hostess of a Xew York show. YE OLDE PIRATE SHIPPE The usual Wednesday dance will be enjoyed at the Olde Pirate Shippe Cabaret, Milford, this evening. Ye Versatile Pirates’ jazz band plays all the latest and most popular selections, and a very pleasant evening is assured. For the convenience of dancers a free motor-car service runs between the buses and the Shippe every "Wednesday and Saturday evening.
