GERMAN WAR EXPERT

COLONEL BAUER DEAD (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) SHANGHAI, Monday. The death has occurred in the Shanghai isolation hospital from smallpox, of Colonel Max Bauer, who was recently appointed head of the 30 German military experts for the purpose of reorganising the Nationalist Army at Nanking. Colonel Bauer was General Ludendorff’s chief of staff in the Great War. .
