The Secretary to the Ministry of Labour announces that on April 29 there were on the registers of the employment exchanges 824,400 persons wholly unemployed, 259,900 temporarily stopped, and 79,500 normally In casual employment, making a total of 1,163,000. The total w-as 23,078 more than the week before. It comrnore than the year before. It comprised 907,100 men, 37,70i>. boys, 186,600 women and 32,400 girls.
