FIRST LECTURE OF SERIES The first of a series of lectures arranged by the Auckland Institute will be given on "Wednesday evening by Mr. R. A. Falla. M.A., who will speak on “Life in the Deep Sea.” The lecturer will outline the historical background which forms the foundation of the modern science of oceanography. He will give a brief account of deepsea animals and the conditions under which they live and will describe a recent cruise to investigate deep-sea, life made in the Danish research ship Dana, in New Zealand waters, early this year.
