OPEN SEASON FOR OPOSSUMS

The Egmont Xational Park Board has decided to declare an open season for opossum trapping- in its reserves this year. Over 4,000 skins were obtained officially in the reserves last year, as well as a number unofficially. Two rangers who are now employed by the board making systematic inspectiQns of the whole of the mountain area, recently came across several traps near the Xorthern Road, but were unsuccessful in their efforts to establish ownership.
