VARSITY ATHLETES

VISIT TO AUSTRALIA

PERSONNEL OF TEAM Press Association WELLINGTON, Friday. The New Zealand University Athletic Team will visit Australia for the first time, this month. The team will compete at two meetings in Sydney, following the Australian University tourney at Brisbane on May 29. The personnel of the team, wliich will leave Wellington on May 24 and will be away for about three weeks, is as follows: E. B. E. Taylor (Canterbury College), long distance events; D. W. Bain and O. C. Harley (Canterbury College), middle distance events; H. A. Henderson (Canterbury College), putting the shot; F. S. Ramson (Victoria), hurdles and long jump; E. K. Eastwood (Victoria), sprints and quarter-mile; J. N. Goodson (Victoria), sprint events. R. Leech and C. H. Jenkins (Victoria) are unable to make the trip, and O. Morgan (Auckland) who was also approached, said he is unable to go, but he may reconsider his decision. The first meeting at which the team will compete will probably be on June 1 against Sydney University, and the second will either be New Zealand University v. the combined Australian Universities, or the combined Australian and New Zealand University teams versus the New South Wales Amateur Athletic Association’s team.
