DISEASES IN. AUCKLAND
DYSENTERY IN THE NORTH Notifications of disease in the Auckland district are not above the ordinsry and there is nothing alarming in the numbers of fresh cases reported. The only cases of dysentery in North Auckland since early in March have teen notified from the Bay of Islands. Five members of one family were infected but they are now recovering, "'he outbreak was definitely traced to ? relative from the South Auckland (istrict, where cases have been fretuent, who visited the Bay of Islands .with a child w ho had the disease. Two new cases of dysentery were ratified in the Auckland Central District this morning, and three from s>outh Auckland. Several of the Tatiepts have been affected for some lime and the cases are confined to no particular locality. Five cases of typhoid fever among Maoris have been reported from Rotorua. Two cases of diphtheria were notified in the Auckland city area this Horning. Scarlet fever is still in evidence ihroughout the district, hut the Position is not unusual for this time of the year.
