T. F. Mitchell said That although nothing definite had been decided, there was something "in the air ’ wnen refering to statements that the Royal Show was to be confined, to WeJington in the future. Mr. W. J. W. Pascoe said the council needed to decide its attitude to the Royal Show CocmciL The Wellington Show Association had a magnificent showground, he said, but if *he holding of the shew there was going to be permanent, he thought a remit of pretest should be sent to the _ inference of North Island agricultural and pastoral associations and to the Royal Agricultural Society. Mr. S. Austin Carr feared that if the show were to become a permanent fixture at Wellington they would no: get many Auckland animals there, as the cosx" ,f transport would be enormous. He was in favour of withdrawing altogether. Mr. A. C. Trousdale said that breeders were expected to support the Royal Show wherever it was held. Mr. J. P. K-uiangher said transportation was the key of the position, and if ft was available there was no: great j room for complaint if the show were held in Wellington. __ j ‘‘We want to see the Show travel round the country/’ said Mr. Pascoe. “It would then give an imt petus to the various agricultural and pastoral associations and to breeders ; all over the Dominion. That was the j original intention of the show, and we j should stick to it.” Mr. H. S. W. King said a resolution that the Royal Show should not be | held in one place, which would not be in the best interests of the Dominion, would be the best thing.
