.At the ajinuJ meeting of the Matumata branch of the New Zealand Farmers Union was held cn Wednesday evening. Mr. T. H. Prowse pros. dover a good attendance. Visitors present included Messrs.W. H. Allen (Tirau*. J. W. Anderson < Tirau S. H. Judd • Miungaumar. 1 . B. C. Taylor and W. h. Wilson • Mamma, ta). Officers were elected as follow - President, Mr. T. HI Frowst vicepresident. Mr. G. H. Seed; secretary, Mr. A. J. Tong: auditor. Mr. E. C. Banks; executive- president and vicepresident. Messrs- J Price, H. Sutherland &en_ J. EL West, P. Finlay son. jun-, W. R. Wilson. W. P. Ryan, £L Rollett and J. W. Simpson. Mr. Alien addressed the meeting on “Protection of Local Industries.” Mr. Judd outlined the progress of the Pig Marketing Association. Mr. B. C. Taylor gave a resume of the activities of the Mata mala Chamber of Commerce.
