GIFT OF £IO,OOO FOR EXPEDITION
MELBOURNE, Friday.
A gift of £IO,OOO by Mr. Macßobertson, a well-known confectionery manufacturer, toward the forthcoming Antarctic expedition has solved the major difficulties. It is described as being a most opportune gift. The official title of the expedition will bo “The British, Australian and New Zealand Antarctic Expedition. It has been definitely arranged that the Discovery will be lent by the British Government and will sail from Capetown for the Antarctic.
