BACK FROM SAMOA
POLICE ON MAUI POMARE MEN ALL PAID OFF
Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, To-day. Thirty-two men who did service in Samoa ‘as Military Police returned to New Zealand by the Government ship Maui Pomare yesterday. The men, whose homes are in Christchurch, Dunedin Wellington or Auckland, came on to Christchurch and underwent medical examination at the King Edward BarracksLast evening they were paid off after over a year of service, and the North Island men spent the night on the Maui Pomare, which will take them back to Wellington and Auckland. Fruit brought by boat, 8,500 cases of bananas, is in excellent condition.
