WEDDING BELLS

LELAND—HEWSON Aliss Joyce Olga Hewson. only daughter of Airs. A. E. and the late Airs. C. It. Hewson, of Ocean View Road, Alflfcrd, was married to Air. W. Leland, youngest son of Airs. E. and the late Air. Leland, of Ohakune, at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, Ivhyber Pass, on Wednesday evening. The Rev. Gordon Bell was the officiating clergyman. | The bride, who was given away by her brother, Air. Raymond Hewson. wore a gown of ivory chenille embossed georgette. The slender corsage was swathed at the hips and caught on one side with a spray of orange blossom. The ankle-lengtli skirt was i draped at each side and fell in pointed | ends below the hem of the skirt. An oval veil of Brussels net, fastened at j each side of the head with a posy of orange blossom, fell in soft folds to form a train. The bride carried a shower bouquet of white flowers. Airs. Regan, the matron of honour, was gowned in peach-coloured georgette, with diagonal ribbon trimming. Her felt hat was of toning shade, and she carried a bouquet of autumn tints. Aliss Eileen Conway was a daintilyfrocked attendant maid in almond green' georgette bordered with matching satin. Her green felt hat was trimmed with velvet ribbon. Little Lorna Regan and Gwen Alac-. Donald were two train-bearers. Their frocks were of pink and blue taffeta, respectively. They wore poke bonnets and carried tiny tulle muffs edged with rosebuds. Air. Eric Bell was best man and Air. 11. Aloran was groomsman. A reception was later held at the Penrith Tea Rooms, where the floral decorations matched the frocking of ! the bride’s attendants. After the breakfast musical items were contributed by , Alisses Laura and Ida Walker, duet; Aliss Conway and Aliss Dudley, songs; and Air. Eric Bell, piano solos. Among the large number of guests were;—Air. and Airs. J. Hewson, Air. and Airs. Bell Booth, Mr. and Airs. J. S. Leonard, Mr. and Airs. A. St. Clair. Air. and Airs. F. AlacDonald. Air. and Airs. Shelton, Air. and Airs. AV. Neumegen, Mrs. J. W. Taj’lor and Aliss Taylor. __ SKELTON—KING A very pretty wedding took place at St. Mary’s Church, Opotiki. on Tuesday morning, when Isabel Theresa, only daughter of Air. and the late Airs. A. King, of Rotorua, was married to Henry, third son of Airs, and the late Mr. Skelton, of Taneatua. The bride, entering the church on the arm of her uncle, Air. W. Hennessy, who gave her away, looked charming in a beautiful frock of ivory georgette, daintily frilled. Her beautiful veil fell from a pretty headdress of orange blossoms. Her bouquet was of cream chrysanthemums and asparagus fern. Aliss Kathleen Hennessy, cousin of the bride, acted as chief bridesmaid. She was charmingly attired in a dainty frock of mauve georgette, beautifully embr.oidered, with cap of mauve tulle. She carried a bouquet of gold and cream chrysanthemums, with asparagus fern. Aliss Kathleen Hennessy, jun., another cousin of the bride, also attended as bridesmaid, daintily frocked in pink georgette and silver lace and tulle cap of pink. Her bouquet was of cream chrysanthemums. Al.r. B. Hyland, of Taneatua, attended the bridegroom as best man. The Rev. Father Smiers performed the wedding ceremony. The bride’s travelling frock was of bois de rose repp, with shoes and toque to match.
