WAIPAHI DEPARTS.—The Union Company's Island fruit steamer Waipahi, left last evening for Rarotonga, Mangaia, and Aitutaki to load a cargo of fruit for Auckland. DAGESTAN DUE MONDAY. —The Shell Company advises that the steamer Dagestan is due at Auckland on Monday from the East Indies. She is bringing a cargo of kerosene for Auckland. CANADIAN CHALLENGER TO LOAD. -—The Canadian Challenger leaves Wellington on Monday for Auckland, where .she completes her loading, and finally departs on May 3 0 for .New York, Boston, and Montreal, via Panama. MARAMA AND MAUNGANUI. —The Marama and the Maunganui leave Sydney at three o’clock this afternoon for Auckland and Wellington respectively. Both vessels are due at their arrival ports next Tuesday morning. POOLTA SAILS TO-MOR RO W.—The local office of the Union Company advisee that the steamer Poolta leaves Auckland at noon to-morrow for Grafton. The vessel has been undergoing overhaul and survey at this port. TREGON ELL'S MOVEM ENTS.--Advice has been received that the Plain Bine steamer Tregonnel, which leit Auckland yesterday for Westport, will, after bunkering at the coal port, proceed to Ocean and Nauru Islands to load phosphates for Australia or New Zealand. NIAGARA FROM VANCO UV E R.—The local office of the Union Company has been advised by cablegram that the It.M.S. Niagara left Vancouver at noon last Wednesday, via Victoria. Honolulu, and Suva, for Auckland and Sydney. She is due here on May 20, and at Sydney on May 26. GOLDEN STATE COMING.—CabIe advice has been received by Henderson and Macfarlane that tlie Oceanic and Oriental Line’s steamer Golden State loft Los . Angeles on May 1 with cargo fox- discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Timaru, and Dunedin. She is due here on May TREGENNA SAILS.—The Hain Line’s steamer Tregenna, which was held up in the stream since Wednesday owing to trouble with the crew, sailed last evening for New Plymouth and Wanganui to complete her discharge of Nauru phosphates. From Wanganui the vessel proceeds to Nauru Island to load again for New Zealand or Australia. MAUI POMARE FOR NORFOLK ISLAND.—Due at Lyttelton to-morrow from Niue Island, and Apia, Samoa, the Government motor-ship Maui Pomare later proceeds to Wellington and Auckland. She is due here on May 3, and. is scheduled to sail at 3 p.m. two days later for Norfolk Island. Spedding, Ltd., will act as the agents. AORANGI LEAVES SYDNEY.—CabIe advice has been received by the local office of the Union Compam- that the R.M.M.S. Aorangi left Sydney at 4 p.m. yesterday for Auckland, where she i« due on Monday morning. The liner is announced to leave Auckland again at 13 a.m next Tuesday for Suva, Honolulu, Victoria, and Vancouver. PORT DARWIN TO LOAD.—Leaving Wellington to-day for Napier, Gisborne, and Auckland, the C. and D. Line’s steamer Port Darwin is due here on Friday next to complete her loading. It is hoped to dispatch the vessel the following day for New York, Boston, Halifax, and London, via Panama. Heather Roberton Ltd. will act as the local PORT VICTOR TO LOAD—The C. and D. Line has been notified by cable that the Port Victor will leave Port Kembla to-day for Napier, where she is due next Tuesday to commence loading for London. The vessel will subsequently load also at Waikokopu Gisborne, Lyttelton. Pieton and Wellington. She is due at Wellington on May 22, and will sail finally from that port on May 25 for London, via Montreal. KAIKORAI IN PORT.—The Union Company’s collier Kaikorai arrived in the stream at Auckland shortlv before midnight last evening from Melbourne, via Port Kembla. She berthed this morning at the King’s Wharf. The vessel left Melbourne on April 16, and cleared Port Kembla on April 26. For the first four days the Kaikorai expeidenced verv heavy weather, but later the condition's improved, and the vessel arrived as above. The Kaikorai leaves Auckland on Tuesday foi* Westport. Captain R. B. Corby is in command of the vessel. ’’BAY” LINE OF STEAMERS—lmportant improvements to the one class "Bay” Line of passenger steamers running between Australia apd the United Kingdom are planned by the Aberdeen and Commonwealth Line. The owners have decided to reconstruct the passenger accommodation, owing to the increasing demand upon space. The five fast oil-burners Esuerancc- Bay, Hobson’s Bay, Jervis Bay, Largs Bay and Moreton Bay, are to be thoroughly overhauled and remodelled. Twenty-three two-berth cabins with windows opening 053 to a promenade deck, are to be added, as well as a large number of two-berth porthole cabins on the main deck.
