“SHOW LIFE” Another British picture •will be featured at tho Majestic Theatre this evening! when the Cinema Art Film's release, "Show Life,” will be given its premiere showing. It is a British lnternational picture, directed by Richard Eii-hberg, and starring Anna May Wong and Henry George. Tho story concerns a little Chinese girl, who helps a broken-down circus performer in a knife-throwing act. They secure a 'precarious living with their calling, and her loyalty and devotion help them to endure many hardships.. The picture gives many intimate scenes of cabaret and theatrical life off stage, and the theme lends itself to one of the most poignant dramas ever screened. Although the director contrives to keep the. onlooker interested in the story, it is Anna May Wong's unforgettable acting that really matters in “Show Life." Whether it be o. dramatic situation, a pathetic scene, or a touch of comedy, stie makes eaoh episode a perfect study, and with it all is a fascinating suggestion of Eastern mystery both in her movements and in her appearance. Few actresses can use their eyes to mean so much. Iu a. little while Miss Wong will no doubt be as popular in her own particular roles as Sessue Hayakawa was in his. Among the many items which contribute to a bright programme is a Majestic Magazine gazette with the latest world news, a snappy comedy and two very interesting films showing the latest London buildings and the fashions of garters. Finally there is a “Songs of Spain” film accompanied by special music from the orchestra, and another fascinating U.F.A. gem. There will also be a colourful stage presentation. The whole of the entertainment will bo accompanied by new musical selections from Mr. Whiteford-Waugh’s Majestic Orchestra.
