CORA TACKS

THE Ashhurst-trained Cora Tacks, who has proved one of the most consistent pacers seen out during the last two months, claims two engagements at Cambridge to-morrow. When A. W. Broughton, of Te Awamutu, handles the reins the Van Coronado mare seldom fails to pay a dividend, and “Darkie” appears to have the happy knack of getting her to do her very best. This was demonstrated at Hawera and New Plymouth, but with another reinsman at Wanganui Cora failed to run up to expectations. As Broughton has Andover and Hal Chimes both engaged in the Cup. it looks as if he will be behind one or the other, but should both be withdrawn, and he elects to steer Cora Tacks, the little mare will be a nuisance to the opposition and may effect a surprise in either of her engagements.
