BISHOP’S OPPONENTS SUPPORTED (Special to THE SUN) TE AROIIA, Wednesday. The annual meeting of St. Mark’s parishioners was held in the Parish Hall, Te Aroha, last evening. There was a good attendance. The vicar, the Rev. W. Connolly, said It had been a year of great progress and they could now' show a balance sheet with a credit. Nine years ago the committee had £ 100 in hand for the new memorial church and the necessary £4,300 seemed a long way off yet 'with the assistance of two generous legacies and the Women’s Guild the church stood as a monument to their efforts. The election of members of the vestry and church officers resulted: —Vicar’s warden, Mr. Bruce; people’s warden, Mr. Hinton; vestrymen, Messrs. F. Strange, U. Gilchrist, J. Heathcote, F. Halligan, T. A. Hines, O. M. Samuel, ir Todd, H. F. Wilcox, G. Cornish. A. Andrew; auditor, Mr. Gilchrist, sen.; svnodsmen, Messrs. Bruce and Strange; rural deaconry board members, Messrs, o M. Samuel, H. Todd and A. Andrew. Mr F. M. Strange, a synodsman. outlined the present relations existing at Hamilton between bishop and laity.
