CHRISTCHURCH MAYORALTY MUCH REDUCED MAJORITY Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, Wednesday. The polling for the Christchurch Mayoralty to-day was the heaviest ever recorded. Mr. J. K. Archer (Labour) was re-elected by a majority of 559 votes over Mr. X\ r . Hayward. The figures are:—• J. K. Archer (Labour) 15,479 | W. Hayward (Citizens) 14,920 Majority for Archer 559 The election of the council is by pro-i portions 1 representation, and counting will not be completed to-night. Indications are that the citizens’ candidates will have a small majority on the new- council. The result of the 1927 elections was as follows: J. Iv. Archer 19,147 C. P. Agar 5.64 G
