SCHOOL HOLIDAYS

RAILWAY EXCURSION FARES School in the Auckland Province will be out on Friday, May 10, and in again on Monday, May 27. During the holidays excursion fares on the railways will operate, starting on May 9 and ending on May 18. This scheme of holiday excursion fares was tried with success last year. While excursion tickets will be issued between the dates mentioned, they will be available for return until June 15. The fares will operate between all main line stations in both islands. Pupils travelling will not require certificates unless they wish to leave before May 9 or after May is, in which cases the return ticket will be available for one month from the date of issue. It is expected that not only will parents of schoolchildren take advantage of the excursion fares, but also farmers, who are unable to take a holiday until the approach of winter.
