“NAPOLEON”
FILMED IN FRANCE One cannot but be stirred to the very depths by the dramatic appeal of ! ’’Napoleon,” the spectacular French I film presented in blew Zealand by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, but filmed by a French director, and cast, with the cooperation of the French Government, in authentic locations, which is to be shown shortly, Albert Dieudonne, who enacts the role of Napoleon, gives a splendid characterisation. His interpretation is an intelligent and sympathetic one, and holds the interest at high pitch. Gina Manes makes a beautiful and fascinating Josephine. The historic Fontainebleau Palace, never before used- as a setting for a motion picture, is seen in some of the most lavish and beautiful scenes in this great story of the life and loves of the Man of Destiny. “Strong Boy,” Victor McLaglen’s latest for Fox Films, is a story of a big good-natured baggage smasher, whose lack of ambition nearly costs him the love of the girl. Her methods of generating the spark of “get-up" in him provide situations which are guaran- | teed to bring laughter to the most | blase. 1
