HIT VICE REGAL CAR
CARELESS MOTORIST FINED TRAFFIC COURT CASES A collision with the GovernorGeneral’s car in Queen Street on the evening of April 10 resulted in the appearance of F. Beehan, at the Magistrate’s Court this morning, on a charge of dangerous driving. A CCORDING to Mr. G. M. Hogan, ■£\* chief Traffic Officer, his Excellency was on his way to the Town Hall and his car had just turned across Queen Street to draw up before the door when Beehan, who was travelling down Queen Street, collided with it. He struck the Vice-Regal car by the rear wheels, but did little damage. Mr. Wallace, who appeared ♦" Beehan. was of the opinion that his cient was unfortunate. Counsel considered that, had it been any other car than the Governor-General s, nothing more would liave been heard of the incident. .. Mr. Hogan assured the court tlint the charge would have been brought whoever the owner of the damaged car had been. Beehan was fined 10s and costs. Other fines for dangerous driving were imposed as follow: A. Rogers, h. Overton, It. Ellis, J. Lawther, C. Beer. F. R. Newton and L. W. Taylor, £2 and costs; R. A. Vibert, -A. Grieve, J. Lawther. N. P. Doherty, . Hall, A. L. G. Hastie, G. C. Laird and D. Taylor, £1 10s. Mr. J. G. L. Hewitt. S.M., presided over the Magistrate’s Court. In the Police Court, where Mr. l*. K.
