PACERS FOR CAMBRIDGE POSSIBLES AND PROBABLES THEIR PROSPECTS DISCUSSED There will be no dearth of pacers at Cambridge on Saturday, and events over eight, ten, twelve thirteen, and sixteen furlongs have been arranged for their special benefit. There will be many taking part that will have varying chances, while as usual the "outside” element will be prevalent, and backers of the long-odds brigade may again have a profitable day. TF Moko Fl}' could be depended upon to behave properly at the barrier, and take bis departure at the scheduled time, the Whangarei representative would have a fine chance of securing a winning certificate in the Leamington Handicap. The Peter Moko gelding ran second in this heat last year, and may go one better on Saturday. Chance for Oliver In what looks like being a moderate field. Oliver Thorpe, if he produced his first day Wanganui form, would make things interesting in the mile and a-half novices’ item. But Oliver does not appear to be of the everyday variety, and when expected to show improvement that would lead him to a stake, he gets lost in the rush. On the Improve Carnui was showing up fairly well in his races: ftt Te Aroha, and he should be ab* to get at least some portion of the prize money on Saturday. The racing he had recently would prove beneficial to the El Carbine pacer, and he will probably show to greater advantage when next seen under silk. Should Go Better In the saddle event last month at Thames, Princess Betty showed a good turn of speed for the major part of the journey, although her display when hitched to the sulky was not very encouraging.
