DR. C. L. NEDWIUL Dr. Courtney L. Nedwill has died at Christchurch at the age of 70. He wps a well-known practitioner and W&& stationed at Trentham during the war. —P.A. MR. CHARLES WHITE The death of Air. Charles White occurred at his residence at Waipipi, near Waiuku, on Monday. Air. White was born at Newcastle-on-Tyne in T 839. and was the second son of the late Rev. Thomas White, of Cowthorpe. Yorkshire, England. lie came out t«* New Zealand in 1863 in the Donna Nita. and was five months on the voyage. Landing at Bluff he met with considerable hardship for the first few* years in New Zealand. On one occasion he walked to the West Coast goldfields, but had no success there. Later on he joined the Telegraph Department, from which he retired in 1901. Air. White was in charge of the office and the line at Alanukau Heads for 22 years. Mr. White is survived by his wife, an adult family, and many grandchildren.
