CREATED A COMPANION BY THE KING GLAD FOR ARMY’S SAKE (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) ( United Service) Reed. 9 a.m. LONDON, Monday. General Booth, formerly leader of the Salvation Army, has been appointed a Companion of Honour by the King. When General Booth read the letter informing him of the honour, he
turned to his wife and said: “I am pleased, because I see you are pleased; but we must not think too much of earthly honours. This is an honour, not U>r myself, but for the Army. I only wish I were in a better condition to make use of it.”
