What They Stand For: General—This programme is devised to give relief to the overburdened ratepayer by economies in administration and by carrying on the City’s business with the greatest possible efficiency. 1. City Management—Complete investigation of the management of the City, and the duties of its officers, to secure efficiency in methods of work and control proper buying practice, and the adoption of contracts instead of •lay labour when found more economical. 2. Sewerage—The adoption of up-to-date methods for the disposal of the City’s Sewage with a view r to eliminating the present nuisance in the harbour. 3. Transport Board —Review of tho personnel of the Transport Board after the poll, and replacing by elected members of the Council any who may not be re-elected. 4. Roads and Streets—Adequate maintenance and scavenging of the paved and surfaced tlior°p U if ares ’ ant * the completion of all unformed roads as soon as economically possible. 5. Traffic—Careful study of traffic problems. 6. Endowments— Careful manage™er,t these assets to ensure the fullest revenue. 12. Electoral Reform—An early investigation of the possibilities of City Electoral Reform. 13. Harbour Bridge—Approval of a Harbour Bridge, providing it imposes no -burden on City ratepayers. 14. Hobson Bay—The conservation of Hobson Bay to ensure its being kept free from use for industrial purposes. 15.
