CANDIDATES SEEK VOTES
MEETING AT BIRKDALE Keen interest in the Birkenhead Municipal Elections was shown at Birkdale last evening when Mr. A. E. Greenslade, a candidate for the Harbour Board, the three candidates for the mayoralty and 12 out of the 18 candidates for the council addressed a large audience in the Public Hall. Mr. F. Kay presided. The three mayoral candidates were allowed ten minutes each to speak aud three minutes to answer questions, while the other candidates spoke for five minutes with three minutes for questions. Subjects dealt with were town-plan-ning, drainage, fire-fighting aud transport. At the close of the meeting a vote of thanks was passed to the speakers.
