TOUR OF THE NORTH

CHAMBER OF COMMERCE TRAIN MANY APPLICATIONS Half the available accommodation of the Chamber of Commerce train for this year has been booked. Although the train will not run until the middle of November, 30 members have signified their intention of making the trip. The total number needed is 60, in addition to Government officials and attendants. This year the chamber has decided to tour the North of Auckland instead of making a trip through the whole province. It was felt that if a concentrated effort were made on the North it could be done more thoroughy. Country which was not visited last year will receive attention on this occasion. This year a great deal of the country will bo traversed by motor-car and possibly there will be several launch trips to be made. The Waipoua Forest will probably be visited. Some of the members desire to see some of the unbroken country in the North In addition to that which has been transformed from wastes of bracken and manuka to verdant countryside. There is every indication this year’s commerce train will be just as successful as the last.
