RIFLE SHOOTING
CITY AND SUBURBS CLUB SEASON CONCLUDES The City and Suburbs Defence Rifle Club has now completed the current season’s programme, and activities will not be resumed until next spring. The attendance for the year lias been excellent, especially in the junior grade and competition throughout has been very keen. All three championships have changed hands, which will serve to stimulate greater interest in next season’s work. The prize list As as follows: Club championship, A. J. Pieterson; runner-up, H. J. Verrall; junior championship, G. G. Kelly; runner-up, 11. W. Verrall; service championship, P. .7. Pring; runner-up, G. G. Kelly; best A grade average, P. J. Pring; best B grade average, G. P. Birks; knock-out cup, G. P. Birks: A grade trophies, A. J. Pieterson; A. T. Patrick, R. C. Russell, P. .7. Pring and C- J. AJ. Clark, B grade trophies; AI. H. Russell, G. G. Kelly, G. P. Birks and H. W. Cozens. Success in open competition include the senior and junior championships at the Auckland Riile Association’s meeting, and first places in teams matches at the Auckland Regimental, the Auckland Rifle Association, and the South Auckland Rifle Association meetings. MATCH AT THAMES The return match between the Thames Gun Club and Rifle Club was tired on Saturday afternoon. The shot-gun men were defeated by 70 points. Scores: Rifle Club. —R. Cameron, 50; P.
