W. Platts. S.M.. so i . . t the evidence did not warrant a conviction, but it did warrant the police bringing this disgraceful case before the licensing bench. Pringle was found in a semi-consci-ous state in the cemetery reserve at Puriri and had to be medically treated at the Thames Hospital. The suggestion by the defendant that Pringle had been drinking methylated spirits was scouted by the Bench.
