SUCCESSFUL PAGEANT AT HASTINGS LARGE ATTENDANCE Press Association HASTINGS. To-day. The Hawke’s Bay Aero Club’s pageant at Hastings on Saturday attracted 10.000 spectators. Eight airplanes took part. Two airmen. Major K Caldwell, of Auckland, and Captain Blomfield. did not reach tlie pageant from Hastings until 4 o'clock on account of bad weather. The big contest of the day was the Keiv Zealand light plane blue ribbon race of 25 miles, for a cup presented bv Mrs W. G. Stead. This resulted Captain' White (H.B. Aero Club Moth) 1 ' Major K. Caldwell (Auckland Aero Club Moth) 2. Pilot J. Smith (Air Survey and Transport Co. Moth) 3. Other results were — . Bombing Exhibition: Captain Waite 1. Captain Chandler (Marlborough Aero Club Motli) 2. Pilot Smith - All-Transport Race: Captain J. F Fipdiiv (V.z.A.F. Moth), l: Captain JC Mercer (N.Z.A.F.
