PERSONAL. —The Kawatiri was recommissioned at Auckland on Saturday, under the command of Captain A. R. Reed, who has the following - officers with him: Chief, Mr. J. Mann; second, Mr. R. Lockhart is rejoining the Aorangi at Sydney as chief engineer, after being ashore on holiday leave. Mr. D. A. Menlove has been appointed third officer of the Makura, relieving Mr. J. Billingham. who has been promoted acting second officer, Mr. W. A. Todd having been invalided ashore at Wellington. Mr. J. V. Broadhouse, third officer of the Kairanga, has been transferred to the Kamona as acting second officer, relieving Mr. A. W. McDonald for private leave. Mr. E. M. Anderson, second officer of the Aorangi, is being granted holidays at Sydney this trip. His place is being taken by Mr. A. P. Cousin. Mr. D. M. Keith has been appointed chief officer of the Aorangi, vice Mr. R. M. Scott, who has resigned from t. company’s service, having accepted a position ashore. Mr. D. J. R. Johnson, who is awaiting instructions. GOLDEN CROSS IN PORT. —On Saturday evening the Oceanic ;.nd Oriental Line’s steamer Golden Cross arrived in the stream at Auckland from the Pacific Slope. Yesterday morning the vessel berthed at the Central Wharf to unload the Auckland portion of the cargo, to the agency of Henderson and Macfarlane, Ltd. Her other «discharging ports are Wellington, Nelson, and Lyttelton. The cargo was loaded at Eureka, Seattle. Tecoma, Vancouver, Portland, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. She sailed from Los Angeles on April 1, and experienced fine weather during the voyage. This is the vessel’s first visit to Auckland as the Golden Cross. When she was last at this port her name was the West Henshaw. She has been fitted with refrigerating accommodation, and will inaugurate the company’s new service between New Zealand and America. After loading refrigerated and general cargo in the South, she will return to Auckland to complete loading, and will be dispatched from this port for Honolulu and San Francisco. Captain G. M. Curtis is in command, and he lias with him the following officers; Chief, Mr. C. R. Robins; second, Mr N. K. Jacobsen, third, Mr. M. Pedersen: chief enginer, Mr. P. F. Blinn; first assistant, Mr. G. H. Parris; second, Air, W. H. Kierth; third, Mr. D. AI. Ellis; wireless operator, Mr. J. E. Brockway; chief steward, Air. E. AI. Keith. TRANS-PACIFIC SERVICES. The Waikawa, from Vancouver, via Powell Bay t< was to leave Union Bay yesterday for San Francisco and Los Angeles, going thence to Apia, Melbourne, and Sydney. The Waitemata left Levuka on April 24 for Vancouver, where she is due on Alay 15. The Waihemo will leave Suva tomorrow for Apia and Vancouver. She is due at Apia on Alay 2, and at Vancouver on Alay 23. The Hauraki left Los Angeles on April 10, is due at Auckland to-morrow afternoon, and will later proceed to Wellington, Alelbourne, and Adelaide, and return to Vancouver direct from Adelaide. The Waiotapu. en route from Pacific Coast ports, left Papeete on April 19. is due at Wellington to-morrow, thence to Lyttelton, Alelbourne, and Svdney. She will return to Vancouver via Fanning Island. The V airuna left Los Angeles on April 1S due at Auckland on Alay 7, and will go thence to Napier. Lyttelton, Dunedin, Bluff, and New Plymouth. The approximate loading dates at Pacific Loast ports are as follow: The Waitemata will load at Pacific Coast ports during May and June for Auckland, Wellington, Alelbourne, and Sydney. The vessel is en route from Calcutta, Rangoon, Penang, Singapore and Samarang tor Auckland Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin. The vessel left Samarang last Friday, but is now back at that port. TAMAROA DUE TO-NIGHT. —A further radio message received by L. D. Nathan and Company states that the Shaw, Savill and Albion Company s liner Tamaroa is due in the stream at Auckland at 10 o’clock this evening from London and Southampton. The vessel has 156 passengers for disembarkation at Auckland and cargo for discharge at Auckland and Wellington. She is to berth at the Queen’s Wharf about 8.150 a.m. to-morrow. TREGENNA FROM NAURU ISLAND. —Late last evening the Main Line steamer Tregenna arrived in the stream at Auckland from Nauru Island. This morning she was berthed at the King s Wharf to unload the local portion of her phosphates under the agency of Henderson and Macfarlane. To-morrow afternoon she leaves Auckland for New Plymouth and Wanganui to complete discharge. Captain C. A. Woolcock is still in command of the Tregenna. PORT CAMPBELL TO LOAD.—The C. and D. Line advises that the Port Campbell was to leave Port Kembla yesterday for Opua, where she is due on Saturday next to commence loading for London. The vessel will also load at New Plymouth, Wanganui, Lyttelton, and Wellington. She is due at Wellington on May 15, and will sail finally from that port on May IS for London. Montevideo. THE PORT DARWIN.—The C. and D. Line advises that the Port Darwin arrived in the Wanganui roadstead on Thursday afternoon from Lyttelton continue loading. The vessel will leave the roadstead to-day for New Plymou and Wellington. She is due at Wellington on Wednesday morning, am. sail the same evening for Napier. Gisborne, and Auckland. The Port Darwin will sail finally from Auckland on Mav 10 for New York, Boston. Halifax, and London. Heather, Roberton, Ltd , will act as the local agents.
