Straight Talks to Council ELECTORS No. 3 FADS OF THE MOMENT. 1. To cast reflections on the integrity of Councillors. 2. To cast reflections on the integrity of Council’s officials. RESULTS. Those indicated in Talks 1 and 2 are-bad, but the tendency of these is disastrous to the City’s welfare, as: 1. Makes the work of the Council more difficult and less efficient. 2. Develops lack of faith in your Council, resulting in feeling of insecurity. 3. Depreciates the value of property. 4. Ketards City's develop- * ment. 5. Lessens confidence in business circles. 6. Increases unemployment. COMMENT. Bv general insinuation to decry the integrity of men and women, is mean and contemptible. Let us have specific charges, and cases, and let them be sheeted home if there are such. Much talk of charges has taken place. The Government has been asked to investigate, the so-called statements and evidence has been sent to Wellington. What was the result? The Government stated there were no specific charges, there was nothing to investigate. We do not mind criticism, so long as it is fair criticism and based on real knowledge. We appeal to all fair-minded electors to show their disapproval of such contemptible tactics, as they did at last election, and return men and women of proved experience, ability, and integrity.
