HAD SHOWN FORM

T-TAVING her first run in public, the two-year-old Rose Lupin ran two very promising races at Paeroa a few weeks ago. She looked a much better filly when she was produced in the Juvenile Handicap at Te Rapa on Saturday, but she was not wanted by backers, despite the fact that her owner-trainer was rather sangine. From fourteenth position at the barrier she began brilliantly and at the end of a furlong and a-half she was lying fourth. She finished very resolutely, but only just won, for Pellette carried her out a bit near the judge. The price was a joy one. H. L. Russell came in for many congratulations on this success, which may not be the last.
