FIFTEEN-INCH WOUND

WORKMAN STRUCK BY IRON RODS FELL FROM FLOOR ABOVE While working this morning on the construction of a building in Nikau Street, Mount Eden, Albert Alexander Annan, a married man, received serious injuries following a fall of iron rods. A NNAN, who is 24 years of age and resides at 11 Cobden Street, Newton, was struck by a bundle of rods wbicb fell from the floor above. Portion of the bundle struck his shoulder, penetrating his body to a depth of 15 inches. Other rods fell between his open shirt-front and his body, but did not cause injury. Annan was conveyed by a St. John ambulance to the public hospital, where his injury was reported to be serious. The accident happened about 10 a.m. The building is being constructed by the Fletcher Construction Company.
