STORMY IN SYDNEY

FORMER VISIT RECALLED The success of Limerick, Paquito, arid Honour during the autumn carnival has apparently induced further enterprise on the part of Hew Zealand owners, and last week four horses came from the Dominion, in addition to the half-dozen or so who are still waiting here to pick up a race. Notable among the arrivals was Stormy—a horse which caused a Sensation here a few years ago (says the Sydney ••Guardian'’). He came here in 1926, and won four races in succession. After his departure, he was met in New Zealand by officials, who took steps to ascertain whether his identity was right. But his bona-lides were found to be thoroughly in order. There was no ringtail about Stormy. Doubt had only Been created through the transactions here of a disqualified man, who told all and j sundry that he was the owner. Tot i actually he did not own a hair in Stormy's tail! Not So Good Stormy came over again later, and won two races of a minor nature, but ho was not as good as his earlier sequence had suggested he might be, and the belief that he was capable of winning in the best of company was shattered. Now lie has returned as an aged horse for a third onslaught on the Sydney turf, and as he is useful from six furlongs to a mile and aquarter, further success might await him in suburban or moderate company. Another interesting horse who came was Perception, who. when brought here last year, was bought by a patron of Frank Marsden’s stable, and won City Tatter sail’s Novice at RandwicK. He was reckoned good enough to ship back soon afterwards to New Zealand for the Derby, but he failed. Given a long spell since, he has now returned to take up quarters in Frank . Marsden’s stable once more, and it is j quite on the cards that he will prove j a very useful handicapper here in the | coming spring. j Others who came were Becalmed and Dalston, two fair performers who have gone into Jack Smedley’s stable. They are out of the same dam as Stormy. Stormy is to be trained by the Randwick trainer. E. F. Walker, during the current visit. ✓ RACING FIXTURES APRIL 26, 27 —Nelson J.C. 27—Amberley R.C. 27, 29—Waikato R.C.
