ELECTION IN BRITAIN
POLLING DAY MAY 30 LABOUR CANDIDATES BUSY Times Cable Reed. 10 a.m. RUGBY, Friday. The Prime Minister announced today that Parliament would be prorogued and dissolved on May 10, nomination day would be May 20, and polling would take place on May 30. The political writer of “The Times’* says that Labour’s approved 565 General Election candidates are already working in their constituencies. There is still a likelihood that more constituencies are being selected. There will be only about 50 constituencies in which Labour will not be represented, including Northern Ireland, where the prospects are considered hopeless.
