BIBLE SOCIETY MEETS (From Oar Own Correspondent) MQRRINSVIIJ-E, To-day. The annual meeting of the Morrinsville branch of the British and Foreign Bible Society was held on Thursday evening. It was stated that the branch’s contribution to the society last year was £45. The election oi officers resulted: President, Mrs. G. Howie; secretary, Mrs. P. J. Cooper. An address was given by the Rev. b. Calder, the society’s New Zealand secretary. A keen fight is anticipated on th® half-holiday question, on which a is to be taken on Wednesday. Saturday Opening Committee is worKing energetically to change the day from Saturday back to Wednesday. * * * Miss G. B. Stewart, of Auckland, has been appointed to take charge of IP Tahuroa School, in place of Mr. C. Walsh, who was accidentally killed ia»i Sunday. * * * . Mrs. B. Chapman, of Hangawera Road, received severe injuries to her han this week through slipping and taiiin® against a barbed wire fence.
