GRAND AND LYRIC
“TESHA” Many films have reflected marriage problems in a light vein, but among social dramas “Tesha,” the new British International picture starring; Maria Corda and Jameson Thomas, now at j the Grand and Lyric Theatres, is classified as a problem film, and the j adaptation to the i screen is described as being intensely dramatic, of exceptional power, and culminating in a terrific climax. The film is adapted from the Countess of Barcynska’s novel of j the same title, and contains reminiscences of a real i life story as told { to the producer by J a Harley Street j
specialist. The film play is an artistic ! triumph, and, in obtaining the ser- 1 vices of the combination of two such capable and famous artists to interpret the difficult roles allotted to them, British International Pictures have < shown great enterprise. | “Captain Lash,” the second feature ' at both theatres, stars the redoubtable | | Victor McLaglen as the rough fifth • j engineer on a Pacific liner. i
