BOHEMIAN ORCHESTRA
FIRST CONCERT NEXT THURSDAY j The Bohemian Orchestra, which is | recognised as New Zealand’s finest ori ehestra, will inaugurate its 16th season with a concert at the Town Hall on I Thursday next. I An excellent programme has been j prepared and the items to be played by Ithe orchestra of 80 performers will include the overture, “Jubilee” (Weber); orchestral ballad, “The Ship o’ the Fiend” (MacCunn); Symphony in G Minor, No. 40 (Mozart); suite, “Five Zonbilder” (Reinecke); suite de orchestra, “Karelia” (Sibelius); and scenes from “Lilac Time” (Schubert). In addition Mr. Len Barnes will sing “The Erl King” < Schubert) and scena and aria from “Un Ballo in Maschera” (Verdi): also Mr. Trevor de Clive Lowe will play the ’cello solo, “Sul* le Lac” (Godard). Mr. Colin Muston. L.R.A.M.. is the conductor and Miss Edith Whitelaw, I L.R.A.M., the leader.
