NOT CONFINED TO ENGLISH
“TALKIES” ARE INTERNATIONAL The talking picture is by no means confined exclusively to English-speak-ing nations. Germany and other European nations already have installed sound equipment. and are showing films which include songs and dialogue in English. Great dramatic artists are not restricted by the particular language they use. Maurice Chevalier, the famous French vaudeville and musical comedy artist, who is at present making an alltalking picture for Pai'amount, entitled “The Innocents Of Paris,” speaks English throughout the production, though with a pleasing French accent. His compatriots will, however, have little difficulty in understanding him. Not only the European nations, but every country in th*e world, including even China. Japan and the Philippine Islands, will have theatres equipped with sound film apparatus in the near future.
