COUNCIL CANDIDATES MEET RATEPAYERS ADDRESSES AT BIRKENHEAD The Residents’ and Ratepayers’ Association of Birkenhead added interest last evening to the municipal elections by holding a meeting at which the eighteen candidates for the council and the three candidates for the mayoralty gave their views. Mr. J. Batty, vice-president of the association, presided. Each candidate was allowed seven minutes in which to express his views on drainage, transport, fire-fighting, borough management and road maintenance. Each candidate was given an attentive hearing. The members of the association held a- meeting afterwards to decide which candidates they would support.
