Soccer MATCH WITH WELLINGTON At a meeting of the central board of the Auckland Football Association held last evening, Air. A. AXenzies presiding, the possibility of an Auckland representative side visiting Wellington on June 3 was discussed. The chairman pointed out that the English trophy would not b© at stake unless Auckland was prepared to give Wellington the opportunity of winning the honours and to accept the guarantee of a return match later in the season. The

matter was held over pending advice from Wellington. Final arrangements were made for the night football match between H.M.S. Dunedin and Auckland at Blandford Park to-night. Repairs and improvements to the lighting effects have been carried out, and conditions at the ground are expected to prove ideal. The New Zealand Council requested the Auckland Association to forward any suggestions which might aid the council in staging night matches in Wellington. A letter from H.M.S. Philomel stated that a Navy team was prepared to play a match against a team from the French warship Tourville, which -will visit New Zealand in July. July 27 was suggested as a suitable date, and the matter of arranging the fixture is to be taken up with the Consul for France.
