ELECTRIC SOCCER

AUCKLAND V. H.M.S. DUNEDIN AT BLANDFORD PARK TO-NIGHT The latest innovation eff playing football by artificial light will be repeated at Blandford Park this evening, when the full strength of the Auckland representatives wil be tried out against the team of H.M.S. Dunedin, which is one of the strongest combinations in the Dominion. While in Wellington the team of the flagship defeated the Wellington reps, and also Petone, the champion club of New Zealand last season as winners of the Chatham Cup. The seven-a-side tourney last Wednesday was a fascinating spectacle, and further improvements have been made to the flood-lighting, while the powerful lamps which throw such a brilliant illumination on the playing arena have been protected against breakage from casual showers. Given a fine evening there should be a large attendance. The game is timed to start at 7.30 p.m. and- should be over by about 9.15 p.m. Auckland will be represented by: Batty (Trams), goal: McElligott (Trams) and Reid (Bon Accord), fullbacks; Tinkler (Trams), Christie (Trams) and I). .Tones (Shores), half-backs; Charmers (Thistle), Innes (Ponsonby), Hislop (Thistle) and Kay (Thistle), forwards. Reserves: Wright (Celtic) and Bush, Whempstir.
