STRIKERS IN COURT

A SYDNEY DEMONSTRATION SYDNEY, Monday. Thirty-nine men appeared at the Darlingliurst Court to-day on summonses calling upon them to show cause why they should not be restrained from acts in the nature of a strike in connection with the timber workers’ dispute. Crowds of strikers marched to the court, but were not allowed to enter. There was some demonstration against Mr. Justice Lukin, of the Arbitration Court, but the presence of policemen quietened the crowd. Dr. 11. V. Evatt appeared for the respondents. lie contended that the court had no jurisdiction in the matter.
