Ford*—using One Quart of HAVOLINE OIL makes record on 753 Mile Drive ! On November 30tli last a Ford Model “ A ” Roadster (standard job), running on HAVOLINE Motor Oil (the power oil), beat the crack U.S.A. Crescent Limited Express train by 27 minutes on the 758-mile run between Washington D.C. and Atlanta. Had / it not been for rain and a 9-mile detour the Ford would have won by 2 hours. Even with muddy detours and rain, the official check by Western Union time and by newspaper men in Washington and Atlanta showed 'the running distance of 758 miles to be 16 hours and 3 seconds, beating the train by 27 minutes. The mileage qf the Ford was 755, or 100 miles more than the Limited covers. Not only was the opening for placing oil in the crankcase sealed, but newspaper representatives in Washington painted and sealed all possible means by which the car could be refuelled during the run. Gas consumption on the Ford was 37 gallons, an average of 20 h miles to the gallon. No water or oil was added. The driver says:— “ Without the perfect lubrication afforded by HAVOLlNE—tinremarkable power oil—we could not have been successful in our test. HAVOLINE gave us maximum power, perfect piston soal, minimum gasoline consumption, and kept the motor absolutely cool. Incidentally, our oil consumption, even under such a severe motor strain, was only one quart of Havoline oil.” Sole New Zealand Agents: W. T. JOHNSON & CO., LTD. Thorndon Quay, Wellington.
