ROTO ROA TOO GOOD
OLD OFFENDER’S LENGTHY LIST Ernest Edward Cuthbertson Maxey, added another to his list of 68 previous convictions at the Police Court this morning. After pleading guilty on charges of being found drunk in Symonds Street and breaking the terms of his prohibition order, Maxey, a labourer, aged 48, entreated the magistrate to send him to Koto Boa Island. Mr. F. K. I-lunt, S.M.: I should think you would like to go to the Island. What you want is three months in gaol. Sub-Inspector McCarthy: He is not the sort of man we want on the Island. Maxey was fined £5, in default one month’s imprisonment. He had no money in his possession when he was arrested.
