LYRIC AND GRAND
“THE SPV* There is an abundance of thrills in the UJ-A. production, “The Spy,” is now enjoying a successful season at the Grand and Lyric Theatres. The story is of an underworld spy organisation, which, seeking power, Pits its energies against the secret service. Important documents, entrusted to responsible Ministers, are either stolen or copied. Crimes of till kinds, executed with daring and masterly cunning, are committed frequently, «nd when the perpetrators are discover'd and arrested, they go to punishment. sometimes to death, in silence, rather than betrav the master brain at the head of the organisation for which they work. It is with the suppression of this organisation that the Picture is concerned. A strong cast has been assembled, and includes Rudolph Klein-Rogge, JJerda Maurus. Willy Fritsch and Lupu Pick. The chief supporting picture at both theatres is “A Woman Against the tVorld.” enacted by a large east, with Georgia Hale and Harrison Ford in the leading roles. “HIS PRIVATE LIFE” AT ROYAL One of the sophisticated comedies by Adolphe Menjou. “His Private Life,” js now being shown at the Royal Theatre. Kingsland. The story is laid in the smart homes and famous cabarets of Paris, and tells °f a philanderer who is placed in the unhappy position of seeking the help °f an old flame to help his cause with a new. Naturally complications result, and the tale finishes in the inimitable Adolpe Menjou manner. “Naughty Baby'* is the second feature. This is a fast moving comedy of New York millionaires and chorus girls, starring Alice WUit* and Jack Mulhaii.
