What the Queen Bought for 6d A RECENT issue of the “ London Daily Mail ” gives an interesting account of the Queen’s visit to a store conducted on similar lines to our “ Nothing Over 1/- ” Department. After inspecting the goods, Her Majesty purchased many articles at Sixpence each. At the bookstall she bought six volumes of Edgar Wallace’s stirring stories. Among her other purchases at Sixpence each were: Glass Dishes Leatherette Toilet Liquid Nail Polish Cases Manicure Sets 2 Bottles of Rubber Sponges Smelling Salts 1 So impressed was the Queen with the value of the goods she had seen that she said: “ Isn’t it marvellous!” That is what many people say of our ” Nothing Over 1/- ” Department. It is indeed the talk of the town. The variety of goods offered is an eye-opener, and the values are amazing ! On our First Floor are displayed Household Hardware, Crockery, Glassware, Cutlery, Tools, Drapery, Men s Wear, Fany Goods, Jewellery, Books, Pictures, Stationery, School Requisites, and all sorts of Novelties. And no article costs more than ONE SHILLING! Prices are boldly printed, so that you can walk around and serve yourself from the counters. Come To-morrow, and see this wonderful department.
