DISCORD IN BAND
CONDUCTOR RESIGNS (From Our Oion Correspondent) CAMBRIDGE, To-day. At the annual meeting of the Municipal Band last evening - , dissatisfaction was expressed at the position of the band At a subsequent meeting of the committee and members, and the conductor, Mr. C. Boyce, opinions were expressed that the band was making little progress, and that the conductor was to blame. The conductor said there was little unity among the members, and that this was the cause of the trouble. Finally, a resolution of no-confidence in the bandmaster was carried, whereupon the bandmaster resigned. At the annual meeting the balancesheet showed a total credit on all accounts of £234 19s 7d. The election of officers resulted: Patron, Mr. F. Bye, M.P.; president, the Mayor; vice-presidents, Messrs. T. A. Hicks. A. W. Gane, E. B. Cox, E. C. VVallis. E. Veale; secretary and treasurer, Mr. W. H. Woolley; auditor, Mr. F. R. Watters; Management Committoe (citizens), Messrs. O. B. Gane, W. White (band), Messrs. R. Ackin*pn. W. Meanie, J. Wilkinson, S. Hall. H, E. Reid.
