In the marts, farmers’ butter is bringing 1s to 1s 4d a lb. In the shops, factory butter is bringing is 1s 8d a lb. Over the counters in the shops, the price for forequarters of lamb is 1s a lb; loin, h i ndq uarters, 1s 3d; leg, 1s 4d; leg of mutton, 9d; hindquarters, 9d; forequarters, 7d; shoulders and necks, neck and breast, 6d ; leg and loin chops, 11 d ; neck chops, 8d ; trimmed cutlets, 1s 1d prime rib of beef, 7d; corned round and beef steak, 8d; suet, gravy beef and sausages, 6d; rump steak. 1s 2d; sirloin, 10d; chuck rib, 7d; wing rib, 9d. Local potatoes are selling at 2s 6d to 3s 6d a bag in the marts; cabbages, 2s to 5s a dozen; green peas, 5s to 9s a bag; beans, 3s to 6s a bag; pumpkins, 4d to 1s 6d each; cucumbers, 1s to 2s 6d a dozen; carrots, beet, parsnips and turnips. 5d to 8d a dozen; and lectuces, 1s 6d to 4s 6d a case.
