Obituary
MR. W. G. FOSTER Mr. W. G. Foster, an old resident of Wellington, who died last Thursday after a short illness, at the age of S 3, arrived in Canterbury from London about the year 1859 in the sailing ship Zealandia. The vessel was part-owned and commanded by his father, the late Captain John Foster. air. Foster served under the late Mr. Rhodes, one of the founders of the Canterbury Province, and later managed the Furau and Seadowns Estate m South Canterbury. He managed a firm in Christchurch, going to Wellington about ISSB to take over the management of the Mew Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd. In the middle nineties air.
